We continue in a similar vein to the previous chapter. Jesus has a stern warning – “Repent or Perish … There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves thrown out.”
But then Jesus sees Jerusalem and he cannot bear his grief. He weeps. He knows what is coming – both for him and the city – and it is too much to bear. His sorrow is overwhelming.
Have you tears today? Know that we have a God who will weep for us and over us!
