Jesus does not pull any punches in this chapter.
A rich man is described as a fool – we are told not to worry, but that there would be much to worry us were Jesus not with us.
A warning to heed the signs of the coming divisions between those even in the same family on account of Jesus and finally an ominous warning to put our debts right before we are “thrown into prison”!
This is not easy reading – but Jesus promises that God will care for us despite the struggles we will face.
